Dress Guidelines for Prom Attendees
- Prom is a Formal Event. Formal dresses, tuxedos or formal suits are appropriate to wear to prom. Those with inappropriate attire, as decided upon by the Administration and Prom Sponsors, may be excused from the dance without a refund.
- If you rent your tux from either Black Tie Formalwear in Schaumburg (all tuxes on display are $129.95, some available for $99.95) or Men's Warehouse (357 W. Army Trail, Suite 30 Bloomingdale- 630.539.9081), Lake Park will receive a credit to make your prom even better! Discount coupons will be available in the Activities Office as well.
- Consider wearing comfortable shoes- remember that you will be dancing at the prom, as well as on the boat if you go to post prom. It doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on shoes that will sit under your table at prom! You'll have more fun if your feet are comfy!
- You MUST wear shoes at prom and post prom per health code.
- Dresses should be no shorter than fingertip length, and slits should not be above the fingertip.
- Backless dresses should not be backless below the navel line.
- No part of the midriff should be bare, or have the appearance of being bare. With your arms at your side, if your arms are touching skin it does not meet guidelines.
- Two piece dresses must meet at the waistline.
- The top line of a dress should not be lower than the bust line.
- No jeans, hats, or sunglasses are allowed.
- If you have questions as to the appropriateness of your prom attire, please see Mrs. Zalon or Ms. Allison in the library with a picture of you in your attire for prom.
